A Martin County Hornpipe

Price: $16.00

Originally released in 1976 as a vinyl LP, this digitally remastered album includes the songs from Warren Nelson’s first historical musical.  This live audio recording of A Martin County Hornpipe celebrates his hometown of Fairmont, Minnesota and the native prairie.  It became the prototype for all the later shows that he created with Betty Ferris and includes his old music pals, Don Pavel and Jack Gunderson.  It was also the first time wizard fiddler Bruce Bowers met Warren and played in the orchestra.  Jeff Gilkinson, who was with the Dillards at the time, and Michael Stanwood, well known autoharp player also contributed to this historic performance.  This is a rare and wonderful recording which displays high musicianship and a record of what was to come in Warren's career.
